Sarah provides leadership, management and teaching at Red Church and loves challenging and inspiring us to grow in our faith. She’s passionate about people really knowing who Jesus is; knowing and trusting Him so well that they’re able to give Him their all. Sarah loves spending time with friends and family, reading and music, and has a cyclical obsession with The West Wing.

“Our vision statement is no trite cliche or slogan. It captures my heart for Red, and for every church: that we be a Church of passionate and committed disciples devoted to Christ’s alternative for the world.”

Pete is husband to Jo, and dad to Josh and Toby. Pete passionately serves the Red Outer East community and loves to lead people, foster unity and encourage others, to see themselves the way God does. He strongly believes in the power of words, and of The Word. Pete pours into the lives of kids in his work as a primary school teacher, and enjoys the odd game of NBA or NFL.

“My heart and hope for Red is that we will develop passionate, committed relationships with Jesus and wisely and sensitively discern culture and faith through His lens.”

Sue Allison

Generations Pastor

Sue is married to Grant, who she thinks is totally awesome. They both like to ride bikes and go to the beach. They have three amazing grown up children plus a son in law, and Sue loves being a grandma, too!
Sue loves encouraging people to position themselves for influence, to believe that they can make a significant difference in the life of another person. She has a particular passion for working with young people, to input into who they are becoming and encourage them to be sold out on Jesus. She also thinks that life should be fun!

"My hope is to raise a generation of passionate, committed disciples who know what it is to love and serve Jesus though each life stage."

Theary Sayers

Operations Manager & Worship

Theary has joined the staff team as Red's Ministry Operations Manager, bringing a decade of experience as an EA with her, and a passion and calling to use these gifts in serving God's work in His church. She also loves serving Red through leading Sunday worship and the music team, fuelled by a passion for declaring God’s Lordship and spiritual authority over the Church through song, and seeing Him move in real and deep ways. Theary is married to Glen and is mum to Kate and Olive.

“Red’s values and ethos have been an anchor when I feel lost at sea in the storm. I have found freedom and hope in becoming more Christlike through spiritual disciplines and character formation. My heart is that others will know this hope; that there’s more to life than our own ambitions.”

Bjorn Irani

Apprentice Minister

Bjorn, along with his wife Beth and two daughters, is a passionate and active member of the Red family. Bjorn is an eager messenger of the Gospel and is moving forward in his call to ministry as one of Red's Apprentice Ministers, where God continues to use and grow his gifts in evangelism, leadership and teaching. He works as a radiographer and loves soccer, golf and playing music (frequently blessing us with his guitar giftings through the worship team).

My heart for Red is that people would understand the Gospel, apply it to their lives, and be set free to serve God wholeheartedly.

Daniel Murton

Apprentice Minister

Daniel is an IT engineer by trade with a streak of the outback within. He’s married to Melody and loves a night on the couch or a hike in the forest with her. Daniel loves people and loves getting alongside them wherever they’re at, and is passionate about creating spaces that enable worship and the growth of community.

"My hope and desire for Red is to be a Church that truly knows the love of Jesus and is a light and guide in a culture that is struggling to find real truth."

Brittany White

Apprentice Minister

Most people will know Britt for her quiet wisdom and leadership of Red’s prayer ministry, but she’s also a keen skateboarder, and loves reading and cooking when she’s not studying theology. Much of Britt’s involvement at Red flows from an earnest desire for people to connect with God through prayer and worship.

“My heart is to see people encountering Jesus and deepening their relationship with Him in such a way that their life is marked by it. That their encounters with Jesus are carried with them impacting their life, not just in the Church but outside of it too.”

Ryan Wallis

Apprentice Minister

Ryan was born in England and relocated to Australia for work in 2009 – he met and married Jo, an Australian (for love, not a visa!) and they have two children. Ryan loves talking with atheists because he used to be one, and through being an Apprentice Minister he's passionately led the Red Mid-East morning service, Alpha course and DNA groups.

I love serving at a vibrant and growing church amongst people who deeply desire to become more like Christ. As a man with many faults, being immersed in a culture of discipleship is really helpful in my journey as I learn more and more about what it means to die to myself and so that Christ can work through me.

He works in the construction industry as an engineer/project manager, and his strategic mind and leadership serve the Red community too in his position as Board Chair. Dave is passionate about people and seeing them changed by the love of God and experiencing the freedom that comes from Christ.

“My hope for Red Church is for it to continue to grow in diversity as a family of people sharing life together and supporting each other as we live out our faith.”

Jeff Tulk

Board Treasurer

Jeff is married with two primary school-aged kids, and works as an accountant/auditor. He’s a strong believer that the church should display organisational transparency, accountability and integrity while acting in faith to Christ’s calling and direction - and as Treasurer of the Board, Jeff sees his role as considering decisions from these perspectives.

“I love that Red seeks to equip the body to live out the Christian faith in real life - to me this means Jesus being a reality in life today, tomorrow, at work, at home and in everything I do.”

Trudi Sayers

Prayer

Trudi is married to Mark and is mum to Grace, Hudson and Billy. She is a part-time teacher of the deaf, working with young children in early intervention. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, and loves to have coffee with people chatting about faith and life. Trudi has a passion for prayer in the power and authority we have in Jesus' name.

My heart is for the captives to be set free and released into their God-given identity and purpose, and for Red Church, that we would walk aligned with God's Spirit and in His truth.

Ash Brewer

Hospitality

Ash and husband Josh are hospitality champions at Red, leading the Sunday morning team of volunteers and hosting a Small Group. Ash works in marketing and loves creating, planning, brunching and getting out into nature. These all contribute to the way she creates spaces for people to experience joy, feel at home and share a good meal with friends.

My heart for Red Church is for every person who steps through the door or attends a small group or listens to a podcast - to feel as though they've come home, that they are welcome, supported and loved unconditionally.

Emily Beimers

Hospitality

Emily is well known in the Red community for her love for and skills in cooking – her cinnabuns have a legendary status! – and she often brings these into her role as Hospitality team leader for the Blackburn 5pm service. Em is a children's librarian by trade and enjoys reading, bright colours, tea and David Hockney. She's an active steward of her gift of hospitality, and is passionate about making people feel welcomed and accepted.

I want Red to be a place where all kinds of people can feel genuine warmth and acceptance, a safe place to be challenged in their faith, to grow with others and to get to know God better.

Fiona Adams

Visual Team

Fi leads the Visual team at Red Blackburn, and works in graphic design and as a social worker in a local school. She's passionate about getting alongside people to help them recognise their potential, no matter who they are, where they've come from or what others may think of them. A keen sportswoman, Fi plays hockey competitively and loves spending time with friends and family.

My hope for Red Church is that it is a place that people come to on Sundays to meet together, worship and learn, so that the actual 'church' can happen during the week through interactions with friends, colleagues and other in our world.

Herbert leads the team in creating a warm and practical space for worship at Red Blackburn's evening services. He also coordinates monthly men's gatherings for the guys from the 5pm service to eat, fellowship and explore faith in real life together. Herbert works for Sports Chaplaincy Australia and enjoys traveling, food, reading, people and playing any kind of sport involving a ball.

My hope and heart for Red is that it be a community that chases after God's heart. A people that will continue to seek His will above any other.
